In recent years, it has become clear that method dressing has become the popular choice among Hollywood’s top actresses and Ariana Grande is giving it her all.
Sunday night, Grande stole the show at the Sydney, Australia “Wicked” premiere, a part of the film’s “Journey Through Oz” Tour, in a blush pink Vivienne Westwood Couture gown.
The ball gown was constructed from layers of pink tulle, covered in crystal star details. According to an article from Elle, the look was originally drawn by Westwood herself and has been frequently seen in her collections since 2010. The bodice was constructed from a corset and the look consisted of sheer sleeves that went down to Grande’s wrists, a direct callback to Billie Burke’s 1939 portrayal of the good witch.
The look was completed with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, which included a butterfly choker and diamond earrings.
According to an article from Women’s Wear Daily, hairdresser Michael Anthony styled Grande’s blond hair in a half-updo, while makeup artist Gabor K. gave the star a more natural look with pink sparkling eyeshadow and matching lip gloss.
Though Grande stole the show, her co-star Cynthia Erivo, set to play Elphaba in the upcoming film, wore a similarly dramatic look from Louis Vuitton.
Erivo wore a sleeveless black gown with a large bow along with a black choker with a diamond pendant at the center. She completed the dramatic look with iridescent green sunglasses, silver earrings and a green gel manicure.
