The 96th Academy Awards, held Sunday evening at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, are one of the biggest events in the entertainment business. They have had fans on the edges of their seats waiting to see which actors and movies will win the prestigious awards in each category.

Since 1929, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has honored artists for outstanding work in films. Throughout the years the Academy Awards have also brought about some of the most iconic fashion moments of all time leaving many to look forward to the fashion portion of the show as much as the awards themselves.

Let’s dive into some of the best and most iconic fashion moments from the 2024 Oscars.

A very popular color choice this year was a mint green, worn by celebrities including Emma Stone, who wore a mint sorbet Louis Vuitton shell-print column dress with a massive peplum, as well as Hailee Steinfeld, Lupita Nyong’o and Da’vine Joy Randolph.

Zendaya walked the red carpet in a jaw-dropping Giorgio Armani Privé antique rose silk gown with a single roped strap. The gown featured an embroidered palm tree print and an embellished waist of gunmetal paillettes. Although the actress was not nominated for any awards at this year’s event, the Academy still found a way to bring her and her scene-stealing style to the awards as one of this year’s presenters.

Bradley Cooper, director and lead actor in “Maestro,” was unable to take home the win for any of the three awards he was nominated for, continuing his Oscars losing streak. However, Cooper arrived in style, wearing a simple and yet timeless Louis Vuitton suit that left fans in awe – and who doesn’t love that his mom was his plus one?

Margot Robbie’s award show outfits have been nothing short of amazing this award season and the 2024 Oscars were our last chance to see the actress channel her beloved “Barbie” wardrobe but instead, the actress shocked audiences, wearing a simple all-black Versace gown.

Her “Barbie” co-star Ryan Gosling sported his signature cool style, wearing a custom black Gucci suit, a black shirt unbuttoned midway, and hot pink socks in honor of the film.

Gosling did have an outfit change during the ceremony as he took to the stage for a performance of “I’m Just Ken,” sporting a hot pink bedazzled suit.

Oppenheimer stars Emily Blunt and Florence Pugh defied gravity wearing shimmering gowns with elevated sleeves.

Blunt’s look, a piece from the Schiaparelli spring 2024 couture collection, was paired with shoes from Alexandre Birman and jewelry from Tiffany & Co. while Pugh’s look, a silver spring 2024 Del Core gown, was worn with Bulgari jewelry.

Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union, who are often considered to be among the best dressed at award shows, understood the assignment.

Union wore an embellished strapless Carolina Herrera mini dress over a matching skirt while Wade chose to wear a custom black and white Versace ensemble.

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo channeled their inner witch, wearing green and pink looks inspired by their upcoming portrayals as Elphaba and Glinda in “Wicked.”

Erivo’s look, an emerald green Louis Vuitton gown, was a direct reference to her green-skinned character best known to fans as the Wicked Witch of the West. The look was paired with razor-sharp green-tipped nails and matching emerald jewelry.

Grande’s look, a bubblegum-pink Giambattista Valli gown, featured a poofy, pink cape and a matching pink, teardrop-shaped necklace and earrings from Tiffany & Co.

Erivo and Grande presented the awards for Sound and for Best Original Song together, taking their on-screen friendship off the screen for the first time.

Marlee Matlin chose to wear a custom Rodarte gown - and the color of the sparkly dress held a special meaning, channeling a similar look she wore during the 1987 Academy Awards in which she took home the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her work in “Children of a Lesser God.”

92-year-old actress Rita Moreno served up red carpet glamor in a pleated taffeta and velvet Badgley Mischka gown.

The 2024 Oscars fashion moments were nothing short of amazing, giving fans something to talk about until next year’s festivities.
