Dec. 7 the members of Scarlette Magazine celebrated the fruits of their semester-long labor with a launch party at Gateway Film Center. This semester’s issue focused on duality, while the launch event mimicked one of the issue’s photoshoot concepts: a masquerade.

The night included the long awaited magazine reveal, photo ops, some exciting raffles and — of course — an opportunity for attendees to dress up and show off their best outfits.

Party goers were invited to don their best semi-formal attire for the event, and while masks were encouraged and provided, came off fairly quickly for picture-taking purposes. Much like the masquerade photoshoot, this theme was a way to highlight the duality of the person wearing the mask. Wearers can be one person or have one look when wearing their mask, but by taking it off they could be someone else or have an entirely different look.

While guests made the night and their looks their own, some common themes found amongst the crowd’s attire included all black, sparkly or sequined fabric, fur or plush coats and long dresses.

Below we’ve included a collection of some of our favorite looks from the event, which include a little bit of everything we saw and enjoyed most. From the full-length dresses to sparkly fabrics and furs, we saw a little bit of everything on the fashion spectrum — and loved finding the best dressed members at the launch party.
