“Monsters,” co-created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, took over the internet in 2022 with its initial Netflix release of “The Dahmer Story.” The first installment of this Netflix series tells the story of Jeffrey Dahmer and his life as a serial killer.

The second and most recent installment of “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,” dives into the story of Lyle and Erik Menendez, two young brothers who murdered their abusive parents. Much like last year’s “The Dahmer Story,” this installment has quickly captured the public’s attention.

The internet quickly fell in love with Nicholas Alexander Chavez, who plays Lyle Menendez, and Cooper Koch, who plays Erik Menendez. Most viewers do not agree with the way Murphy and Brennan portrayed the Menendez Brothers in this adaptation of their story, but this did not stop them from appreciating Chavez’s and Koch’s performances in this show.

Fans are also loving the brother’s impeccable sense of style. Raised in the sun-soaked glamour of Calabasas, California, and later settling into the opulence of Beverly Hills, the Menendez brothers embrace a luxurious fashion aesthetic.

The brothers frequently sport a polished look featuring tailored khakis or fitted jeans, cinched with stylish belts that add a touch of sophistication.

This goes against the recent trend favoring loose, baggier silhouettes, providing a more put-together look.

When the brothers step out of the house, their wardrobe boasts an array of stylish tops that elevate their look. They embrace the art of layering, often beginning with a sleek undershirt that peeks out from beneath an outer layer.

Whether it’s a crisp collared shirt or a classic crew neck tee, this foundational piece sets the stage for a fashionable ensemble.

Over this, they skillfully drape a cozy sweater or a trendy sweatshirt, creating a visually dynamic effect that exudes effortless cool. This thoughtful layering not only showcases their keen eye for fashion but also reflects their personality, allowing them to navigate the bustling streets with both comfort and flair.

In addition to layering, the brothers can be seen wearing a polo or long-sleeved button-up shirt.

The vibrant hues that splash across the wardrobes in the show perfectly capture the essence of the 1980s, immersing viewers in the era's bold and expressive fashion. The brothers frequently don an eye-catching palette of bright, cool colors that mirror the exuberance of the decade, often complemented by crisp whites that enhance their youthful energy.

These fashion trends have had a lasting effect on viewers of the show, as individuals have begun emulating the brother’s style.

The most popular recreated outfit that has been seen from the show replicates Lyle Menendez’s outfit in episode two. Lyle Menendez can be seen wearing a typical long-sleeved button-up shirt. He tops off the outfit with a loosely tied light pink sweater around his shoulders.

Ultimately, the dynamic clothing choices of the brothers not only enhance their characters but also transport viewers back to a lively era, making the show a captivating blend of nostalgia and perfect ‘80s inspiration.
