Sabrina Carpenter has had the internet at her fingertips ever since she opened for Taylor Swift’s 2023 Eras Tour. With her long blonde hair, brightly colored outfits and eccentric performances, Carpenter quickly became pop music’s new “it girl.”
Carpenter’s recent popularity — which first began on April 11 with the release of her hit single, “Espresso” — has only continued to grow.
Following the release of “Espresso” and current pop hit “Please Please Please” — which was released on June 6 — Sabrina announced she would be releasing sixth studio album, to be titled “Short n’ Sweet.”
Shortly after this announcement, Carpenter announced her upcoming “Short n’ Sweet” arena tour with U.S dates, the tour that kicked off right here in Columbus’ Nationwide Arena on Sept. 23. The show, which quickly sold out, marked Carpenter’s first-ever sold-out arena show.
With Carpenter being best known for her cute, sparkling outfits, she did not disappoint at the opening night of her tour. Here are some of Carpenter’s best fashion moments from the Sept. 23 show.
Carpenter perfectly encapsulated her aesthetic, starting the show with a retro-inspired cartoon video, followed shortly after by a live-action video of Carpenter herself sitting in a bubble bath before realizing it was time to perform.
The video ends as Carpenter frantically runs onto the main stage wearing a bath towel. She then opens the towel, revealing a custom pink Victoria’s Polly Pocket-esque bodysuit and a matching pair of custom Phantasy tights, a look she wore while performing the recently-released hit song “Taste.”
While performing the song, Carpenter walked toward a seat on her set as if she is about to get a makeover, her background dancers helping her put on a cropped night-gown-styled cover-up, still matching the “pretty in pink” theme.
The look was meant to correspond with Carpenter’s sensual “Short n’ Sweet” track “Bed Chem,” a very fitting homage to the song.
As the show continued, Carpenter was seen in a custom black Patou bodysuit, matching black lace gloves and a baby blue bow that completed the Polly Pocket aethetic.
Throughout the show, Carpenter completed the look with a feathered, boa-like collar around the neckline, perfect for her performance of hit song “Feather” from 2023 album, “emails i can’t send fwd:.”
Carpenter ended the first night of her tour playing her biggest hits — namely single release “Please Please Please” — and wearing her best outfit of the night, a custom Ludovic de Saint Serim two-piece look paired with dazzling custom Naked Wolfe platform boots, completed with her iconic heart-shaped cutouts on the side.
Carpenter’s opening night was nothing short of a great time, allowing fans the opportunity to dress up and sing their favorite songs, all while enjoying some of Carpenter’s most fashionable looks yet.
