Swedish popstar Zara Larsson is making a comeback.
Known for her viral hits, “Ruin My Life,” “Never Forget You” and “Lush Life” in 2016, Larsson has flown under the radar until recently. This year, Larsson found herself attending the 2026 Grammys, landing three songs on the Billboard Hot 100 and releasing a new studio album titled “Midnight Sun.”
Larsson’s song, featuring musical trio Clean Bandit, “Symphony” became a trending meme during the summer of 2024. This image captured a Lisa-Frank styled dolphin to Larsson’s song, accompanied by various relatable captions.
Embracing her new viral status, Larsson leaned in, taking inspiration from the Lisa-Frank and summer style that the world had grown to love her for. She started incorporating the dolphin meme into her 2024 VENUS Tour, which led the artist into her current branded style.
Larsson’s song “Lush Life,” which came out in 2015, resurfaced in 2025 after a fan was invited on stage with the singer and danced to the choreography of the song. This viral moment vaulted Larsson’s “Lush Life” back into the limelight.
Releasing her fifth studio album, “Midnight Sun,” in June 2025, Larsson later premiered the music video that showcased her vibrant, summer-y, mermaid aesthetic, still taking inspiration from the “Symphony” dolphin meme.
Larsson opened for singer Tate McRae on her Miss Possessive tour, which featured the new album. This reignited Larsson’s spark in the U.S. and led her to announce her upcoming “Midnight Sun” tour.
Larsson was nominated for Best Dance Pop Recording at the 2026 Grammys, where she delivered a live performance during the ceremony.
“[It was a] dream come true,” Larsson said to Vogue. “I was so happy and still am.”

Larsson opts for a colorful, beach-y look, while PinkPantheress leans toward a plaid-infused, Y2K-inspired appearance. “Stateside” quickly reached the top of the charts and became a popular track on TikTok, with fans creating a choreographed dance routine to Larsson’s feature in the song.
